Supervision and ratios
Programs run with trained mentors in the room at a target 1:6 mentor-to-builder ratio for hands-on blocks. Open-shop and cohort formats stay structured — not a free-for-all screen lounge.
Staffing and background checks
Every mentor and regular staff member who works with kids will complete Virginia-required background checks (and any additional checks we adopt as we finalize hiring). We do not publish individual names on this brochure site until we have a full roster; ask us directly if you need vetting specifics for a partnership.
Insurance and facility
We carry general liability coverage appropriate to a youth enrichment facility and will name additional insured parties when contracts require it. Venue-specific details follow once a lease is signed.
How kids use AI here
We do not ask children to create their own accounts on consumer chatbots that bar minors or lack school-grade safeguards. In sessions, AI access is mentor-mediated and age-appropriate — curated tools, shared project sandboxes, and workflows designed for classrooms and clubs — so kids learn collaboration and judgment without being dropped into unrestricted consumer products.
Licensing and Virginia out-of-school time
Many enrichment programs in Virginia operate under the out-of-school-time framework rather than full-day child-care licensure; our exact classification depends on schedule and format. We are working with counsel to map programs to the right rules before we open. If you are a regulator or district partner, reach out and we will share our determination once it is final.
Content and conduct
We have a clear code of conduct for builders, mentors, and families. Generative-AI outputs are reviewed in the same way shop projects are — show your work, no harassment, no deception, age-appropriate subject matter.
Your family's data
Data safety is part of kid safety. The emails we collect belong to adults — our course and printables flows require a parent/guardian (18+) affirmation — and we never sell data or run ads. The full inventory of what we collect, who processes it, and how to have it deleted is in our privacy policy; the rules of the road are in our terms.
