Lesson 28 of 48
Vectors
A list of numbers that also has a direction and a length.
Once a list has geometry, “similar” becomes measurable. The dot product at the centre of this lesson is the same operation that decides what a transformer pays attention to at lesson 46.
Do this
Implement the dot product and magnitude from scratch, with no library. Use them to compute the angle between two vectors you chose, and sanity-check against a drawing.
The question that unlocks the next lesson
Two non-zero vectors have a dot product of 0. What does that mean geometrically?
- AThey point the same way
- BThey are perpendicular
- CThey have the same length
- DOne of them is the zero vector
