Design a house the way architects do.
Architect is a free browser tool for teens and grown-ups. Open a starter house, walk the six phases architects use, and export drawings that open in AutoCAD. No account.
Starter house
Two-story colonial
2,016 sq ft · 2 levels. About 2,000 sq ft on two floors: living, dining and kitchen downstairs, three bedrooms up, a straight stair and a gable roof.
The drawings above are the Two-story colonial starter, generated by the engine. The run is 25 seconds. NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION — educational design.

The lot, then the setbacks
The lot is 70'-0" along the street and 120'-0" deep. Setbacks are 25'-0" in front, 20'-0" in back, and 7'-0" on each side. This is the engine's site plan for the same house.
Walls, doors, a stair, a roof
The first floor, from the same model: room names and areas, doors, windows, and a straight stair. The house has a gable roof.
A sheet set, not a sketch
From this plan the engine lays out plans, elevations, sections, and door, window, and room schedules. Every sheet gets a title block.
Files real tools open
DXF for AutoCAD, LibreCAD, and QCAD. PDF sheets on ARCH D or tabloid. A glTF model. CSV schedules. One .hbarch file to open the project again. NOT FOR CONSTRUCTION — educational design.
