Jobs with AI in them.

Build it, work around it, or use it. There are three ways into a career with AI — and most of them aren't coding.

Every job below comes with something free to try this week: a printable, a debate, a video. Try a piece of the job before you decide anything about it.

The job you love, with a new tool.

A job is a bundle of tasks. AI takes on some of them, helps with others, and leaves the rest to people. Some jobs change a lot; some barely change. A job that changes a lot is not a job to avoid — it usually means new tools, and new kinds of work.

› Is any of this certain?

No. Here's what we know and how.

  • Nobody knows exactly how fast AI will change any job. The “changes a lot / some / a little” levels are informed guesses from two public research studies that look at thousands of everyday work tasks: Anthropic Economic Index and OpenAI "GPTs are GPTs". How the levels work.
  • The research looks at whole jobs across the United States. Your town and the kind of work you pick can be very different.
  • Some of these jobs have only existed for a few years, and more will appear that don't have names yet.
  • We don't list salaries or say any job is “safe.” Caring about people, solving real problems, and learning quickly help in every one of them.

› For grown-ups

Talking about AI and work without scaring anyone.

Kids hear “AI will take the jobs” long before anyone explains what a job is made of. Start with the tasks, argue it out, and look at real careers together.
